Lovely pair of cast Georgian silver candlesticks London 1761 maker John Horsley, with Shaped rococo decorated square bases and sconces, and shaped baluster stems. There is an interesting contemporary crest in both cartouche and on sconces (see photo)of negro / blackamoor head and motto ( hard to read). The hallmarks are the same on both sticks, sconces marked with lion passant only on both.
Excellent condition good clear marks
Jonathan Green Antiques Ltd has clarified that the pair of George III cast silver candlesticks by John Horsley London (304 / LA89058) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1761.
