This is a very attractive round cut glass jar with a purple enamel and silver lid, for a dressing table. The stunning purple enamel has an engine turned pattern underneath. The jar is fully hallmarked Birmingham 1926 and the weight is 215 grams. The jar stands at 6 cm tall, 9 cm wide and 9 cm deep. The maker's mark is unclear.
In excellent condition aside from the maker's mark which is unclear.
Jonathan Green Antiques Ltd has clarified that the round cut glass and purple enamel and silver lidded round jar (035 / LA69811) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1926.
